Mabini, located in the eastern part of Bohol, 103.9 kilometers from the capital was established in 1904. The first settlers came from Duero, Loboc, Guindulman, Jagna and Sevilla.
The barrios were organized into a new town through the initiative of Parish Priest Pedro Jimenez and appointed Municipal President Canuto Bernales.
The principal crops are rice, copra, ubi, bananas, gavi cassava and camote. The town raises enough for its own people. To supplement the family income, people engaged in fishing and raising cattle, pigs and goats.
